The estate, which is the 4 Star Castle Hotel Country House Koller today, was built by the Viennese brewing entrepreneur Moritz Faber in 1850 in typical Salzkammergut villa style. It was to become a proud property featuring finely engraved gables, a tower roof, arcades and extensive wooden balconies, nestled between meadows and forests. Even the Austria'n emperor himself was a frequent guest of the wealthy beer brewer during his hunting trips in Upper Austria's Salzkammergut region. Today the estate is owned by the Koller family in the second generation, which have have renovated the property and turned the villa into a four star mansion hotel.
